In the mid-1980s, few names in European pop carried more weight than Den Harrow. With a catalogue of dancefloor anthems that dominated charts from Italy to Germany and a stage presence that filled sports arenas, Stefano Zandri became one of the defining icons of the Italo disco era — selling over 20 million records worldwide and earning 8 Gold and 8 Platinum certifications. Decades later the music remains instantly recognisable, and Den Harrow is performing live and available to book through Poise Artists for festivals, club events, and 80s nostalgia shows worldwide.

BIO

Den Harrow was born Stefano Zandri on June 4, 1962 in Nova Milanese, Italy. The son of an architect and a haute couture dressmaker, he began learning piano and guitar at age 7 and developed his passion for performance throughout high school in Milan, alongside judo, bodybuilding, and breakdance. Discovered as a model thanks to his striking looks and physicality, he crossed paths with producers Roberto Turatti and Miki Chieregato, and the Den Harrow project was born.

The name itself was deliberate: Den Harrow is derived from the Italian word denaro — money. What followed justified the confidence entirely.

Through the mid-to-late 1980s, Den Harrow became one of Baby Records’ biggest commercial forces, releasing a string of hits that dominated clubs and radio stations across Europe. Tracks including “Future Brain,” “Mad Desire,” “Bad Boy,” “Catch the Fox,” and “Day by Day” reached the top ten in Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and Sweden. His 1987 single “Don’t Break My Heart” — his biggest hit — reached No. 1 in Germany and the Top 5 in Italy, Spain, Greece, and Benelux, earning Gold status in France and Platinum in Canada.

When he performed “Don’t Break My Heart” at Peters Popshow in the Westfalenhalle in Dortmund, the audience reaction was described as mass hysteria. In 1987 alone he performed 246 shows, touring relentlessly across European arenas and sharing stages with Europe, Modern Talking, and Sandra. At the peak of his popularity he outranked Michael Jackson on German charts — an achievement recognised with a Golden Otto award from Bravo magazine. To date, Den Harrow remains the only Italian artist to have been featured on 398 international music magazine covers.

The Den Harrow project was, like many of its Italo disco contemporaries, a creative collaboration between a visual frontman and production talent working behind the scenes — a model common to the era and explored in the 2018 documentary Dons of Disco. Stefano Zandri has been fully transparent about this history and today performs live as Den Harrow with his own voice, delivering the classic catalogue to audiences across Europe and beyond. He remains one of the most in-demand acts on the 80s revival and Italo disco festival circuit.
